Foxcroft School is located in Middleburg, VA and is a girls boarding school for grades 9-12. The school offers a strong college preparatory program in a challenging and supportive academic atmosphere. Foxcroft provides a residential learning experience in which responsibility, integrity, academic excellence and leadership are the main focus.
Founded in 1914, the school is on 500 acres in Middlebury, VA which is only 50 miles west of Washington, D.C. Foxcroft offers as part of their academic curriculum, 80 courses, 12 Advanced Placement courses, and academic support through the Learning Center and Math and Writing Labs. The girls learn confidence and build character while at Foxcroft. This helps them to meet the future with integrity, high purpose and sense of accomplishment.
Each student is required to participate in a structured physical activity throughout the year. As the girls participate in sports they learn the value of good sportsmanship, leadership, teamwork, and commitment. Foxcroft has a variety of sports programs such as: cross country, field hockey, tennis, volleyball, basketball, rock climbing, Lacrosse, soccer, softball, riding, weight training, yoga, zumba and cheerleading/dance.
The riding program at Foxcroft began in 1914, with horsemanship and the responsibility that goes along with it. All directors of the riding program have promoted the philosophy that riding helps develop character and the ability to make good decisions. The riding program is for any girl at any level, whether they are interested in competing or just riding for pleasure. With the 500 acres of rolling countryside, Foxcroft has a perfect setting for the equestrian program.
Foxcroft has available an arts program that help the girls to find themselves. They have art courses, theater productions, music lessons, digital graphics, singing groups, hip-hop dance, and more. Foxcroft’s Art Studio is huge and gives the girls an opportunity to gather for individual projects or for special club projects. Many of the girls artwork is displayed in the hallways of the school.
Foxcroft has a closely-knit residential community which helps all the girls to thrive intellectually, socially and personally. The full time housemothers, student leaders and additional faculty who live in or near the dorm, are responsible for making sure each student is known and valued. Advisors and teachers speak to the parents on a regular basis to let them know how their daughter is doing.
