Erie First Christian Academy
Erie First Christian Academy located in Erie, PA is a coeducational school for grades 8-12. It was founded as a non-denominational Christian school in 1992, under the umbrella of the First Assembly of God. The First Assembly Christian Academy was the name used initially. When it first opened, it included a half day three year old pre school class and each year a grade was added until all twelve grades were apart of the school curriculum. In 2005 the named was changed to Erie First Christian Academy to reflect the community in which they served.
Erie First Christian Academy believes that the Bible is inspired and the Word of God. They believe in the deity of Christ, his birth, sinless life, miracles and his atoning death and resurrection. They believe that Christ will return with power and glory. They also believe that the home is primarily the responsible place for training of children and that the Academy will partner with the parents to train their child. The students are to be in fellowship with God and develop Christ like attitude toward all things. The Academy stress’ the importance of the students individual growth and challenge them to ask, “What is God’s purpose for my life?” The purpose at EFCA is to provide the students the opportunity to develop and excel intellectually, socially, culturally, spiritually and physically through quality education.
The Core Values at EFCA is that each student is unique and valued. They teach Christianity is a vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ and to be like him you need to become his servant. God’s will is intentional improvement toward excellence. Healthy relationships are developed through team building within the organization. EFCA will always partner with the parents to be the best support for them and to deliver educational excellence for the leaders of tomorrow that is distinctively Christian.
EFCA provides traditional college preparatory academics with extracurricular activities and interscholastic sports, intramural athletic programs and leagues, social clubs, recreational programs and student government. There is private tutoring available for those who are gifted, or have learning disabilities. EFCA provides a structured, well rounded, learning and living experience. The students are to take personal responsibility for their homework, proper dress code, punctuality and to fulfill their commitments and obligations. EFCA provides structure, motivation and opportunity for success as they help build self-esteem and physical well being in their students.
