Indian Springs School
Indian Springs School is located in Indian Springs, AL and is a coeducational boarding school for grades 8-12. It has a 350- acre campus with a spring-fed lake, a mountain and a creek which offers many ways for the learning process to be outside the classroom. There are also many trials with plenty of space to hike, bike, run and explore.
Students have the opportunity to participate in the school’s organic garden, where they learn to plant, maintain and harvest their own herbs, vegetables and fruits. The many clubs students can become involved in are Astronomy, stock market, relaxation, and more.
Indian Springs has the most perfect backdrop for the performing arts. Their Concert Hall is perfect for their instrumental ensembles and 120-person traveling choir. The theater department performs three major productions and several one-act plays each year. The visual arts courses are designed to cultivate students’ creativity whether they choose photography, painting, sculpture or woodworking. Everyone knows everyone by name which makes for a very close-knit community that fosters lifelong friendships.
Indian Springs School offers 17 Advanced Placement courses. They were the recipient of the Siemens Award which recognized them as having the top Math and Science AP Program in the state of Alabama.
Indian Springs School has 13 athletic teams and seventy percent of the students participate in at least one.
To ensure that the boarding students are always busy, the school has a variety of weekend activities that include trips to museums, plays, sporting events, shopping trips and restaurant excursions. They also have some fun events right on campus such as dances, cookouts and movie parties in the theater.
