The Culver Academies are located in Culver, IN and consist of Culver Military Academy, Culver Girls Academy and Culver Summer Camps. The Culver Military Academy was founded in 1894 and is committed to educating the whole person. The leadership system at Culver Military Academy was introduced and based on a military model to prepare a young man to serve their country. For those whole choose to pursue a career in the military, Culver Military Academy provides them with the skills they will need. The leadership skills the students learn will help those who choose other careers outside of the military. Culver education teaches the student to learn accountability, responsibility, service and teamwork, no matter what path they choose in life. All staff members of Culver Military Academy serve as a positive role model for the cadets, using every opportunity to develop body, mind and spirit.
Culver Girls Academy was founded in 1971 and their mission is to educate young women to be responsible citizens and for them to learn leadership skills. The CGA Prefect System is a democratic model for helping the girls to lead each other and be an example and also to take on new responsibilities. The dorms provide a safe place for the girls and they develop strong bonds. The leadership opportunities for the Culver Girls Academy and the Culver Military Academy are unique to each school. They share co-educational programs in the school life, including classes, religious and spiritual services, athletics, and fine arts.
The Summer Schools and Camps at Culver were founded in 1902. On the beautiful 1,800 acre setting, students from around the world develop a positive self-esteem by participating in the summer programs. Culver offers an opportunity to earn US Sailing certifications through the Culver’s Naval School. They also have a riding Troop or Equestrienne program, and a student can learn Aeronautical techniques in the School of Aviation. The summer camps at Culver offer to young people age 9-17 the opportunity to experience the most memorable summer of their lives. The students are encouraged to try new things while developing self-discipline and what is really important to push themselves towards their personal best. While the summer program is an opportunity for new friendships, fun, and for a student to learn leadership skills, the campers also learn to be courteous, personal organization and to make thought out choices.
