It is coeducational and provides college preparatory courses. EF International Academy is committed to meeting the needs of young people who are interested in developing their future through an international education. They have private high school programs, with A-level and International Baccalaureate Diploma programs. They strive to instill in their students the love for learning and an intellectual curiosity that will last a life time. EF International Academy is the fastest growing International Private High School. The instructors have the experience necessary to work with the international students of different academic backgrounds, to make a smooth transition into the British or American education system. Because of the diverse international community of students, they can develop life long friendship and build a global social network.
The International Baccalaureate Diploma Program at EF will challenge the students to become independent, self-motivated learners and develop a strong sense of their own identity and culture. The students are asked challenging questions and learn to communicate with and understand people from other countries and cultures. They grow to become responsible world citizens. The IB Diploma program provides an opportunity for the students to study literature, either in their own language or English. They may also study humanities, mathematics, science, and the arts. They also follow the Theory of Knowledge course, which teaches the students to approach their studies with a critical eye. The students are also encouraged to participate in community service and creative projects outside of the classroom. Students that have attended EF have travelled to Nicaragua to help build a school. It is important for the students to experience real world challenges while working outside of the classroom this gives them a broader perspective about the world.
There is a wide range of clubs and activities the students may participate in. Those available at Oxford are: boxing, football, photography, debate, and rugby.
Field trips in Torbay would include: Ashcombe Adventure Centre, Alton Towers and Warwick University, Bristol Maritime Museum, and Media Studies visit to BBC in London.
