About the School
Located in Wolfeboro, NH, Brewster Academy is a co-educational, college preparatory school for grades 9-12 and postgraduates. The campus is on eighty acres and one-half mile from the shoreline of Lake Winnipesaukee. Brewster is designed to prepare a student for admission to the best colleges in the nation. Days are structured so every hour is used to keep the students growing, intellectually, socially, emotionally, physically and personally. With new friends of different cultures and ethnic backgrounds, Brewster has a very diverse student body.
Brewster has regular group meetings, where everyone is interested in each other and what they want to accomplish while attending Brewster. Community life at Brewster is very important and even extends beyond the classroom. The students are encouraged to participate in activities that provide service to others. The spirit of giving is also important and aimed at developing the whole student. There are a variety of community service events all year. A student is encouraged to complete one community service project each year. These projects help build relationships with others, and a student can learn new skills. A student then has pride in their community and can build habits of service that will help them in the future.
Outside the academy, students have helped with Habitat for Humanity, traveled to Boston to help prepare and serve meals to the needy, adopt a highway, help clean roadways and create and build bicycling and skiing trails. Students may also serve as a tour guide for campus visitors, organize a school dance, create artwork for the student center, mentor children at the local daycare center and work at the area sports clinics, helping the young athletes.
Students at Brewster Academy learn to be independent and self-reliant, make good choices, and take responsibility for their actions. They can develop self-confidence, learn and build strong values for their life and be a good citizen while volunteering and serving others. Brewster wants a student to be their best self, by challenging them to achieve their true potential as a friend, leader, student, and member of their community.
